Portrait of artist Chang Lu

 Introduction to Chang Lu

Chang Lu, an internationally recognized artist, was born into a family of painters and developed a deep love for art at an early age. By the age of five, her passion for painting had already begun to flourish. At nine, she began training in fine brushwork under her father's guidance and later studied with several renowned masters to further refine her technique. She went on to graduate from the prestigious oil painting program at the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts and was specially invited by CCTV as an honored artist. Chang Lu is also a proud member of the French Art Association.

Influenced profoundly by Western classicism, Chang Lu traveled extensively across Western Europe to participate in exhibitions and to study the techniques of the Old Masters in major museums. Through this journey, she developed a unique artistic language that blends traditional Chinese aesthetics with Western painting methods—a fusion that gives her work a distinctive and globally resonant voice.

Over the years, Chang Lu has exhibited her work at numerous prestigious art shows both in China and abroad, earning multiple accolades:

  • 2007: Participated in two exhibitions in the UAE; her works were collected by the Gaza Museum.

  • 2008: Awarded for her fine brushwork piece Four Beauties at the Louvre, and won the Gold Medal in Canada for her oil painting Deng Xiaoping.

  • 2009: Her painting Morning Makeup received honors at the Louvre, and she earned Second Prize at the Shanghai International Art Expo.

  • 2010: Shepherd, an oil painting, won recognition at the Louvre.

  • 2011: Her piece Girl received another award at the Louvre, the same year she was officially inducted into the French Art Association.

  • 2015: Received special recognition from Misilkin, Chairman of the French Artists Association, at the Great Hall of the People in China.

  • 2023: Appointed as an Art Consultant for the North American Artists Association.

In 2016, Chang Lu moved to Vancouver, Canada, where she founded the Multi-Element Art Institute, continuing her commitment to education, creativity, and cultural exchange.

Chang Lu’s lifelong dedication to the arts has also earned her roles as a member of the International Oil Painters Association and a lifelong consultant to the International Art Institute. Her innovative and elegant style—rooted in both Chinese tradition and Western mastery—has made her a celebrated figure on the international art stage.
